India’s Fabulous Four: SANAM recently performed a housefull show in Kolkata, India. The band have an ever growing fan base across the world and they are the only Indian artist to have a massive 4.4 million subscribers (and counting) at their YouTube channel, so it really is no surprise that this show of theirs was a great success!
The crowd were treated to the band performing a mix of their popular Bollywood renditions (Lag Ja Gale, Hai Apna Dil toh Awara and others) and their own original compositions (such as Itni Door, Ishtyle, Sanam Mennu and others), the most recent original release of theirs being the powerful rock ballad Tu Yahaan. Popular Bollywood singer Shirley Setia who collaborated with the band on their Kuch Na Kaho rendition, also joined them on stage for a performance.
SANAM also met a lot of their fans before and after the concert and at the airport when they arrived in Kolkata and I feel this always adds a special touch to any concert. One other highlight for me was seeing that the boys actually managed to get an upright piano stage! Both Sanam and Samar play the piano and in this show the audience were treated to Sanam at the piano. The pianist in me got excited because in nearly all live shows, a piano will be subituted by a keyboard as let’s be real, a keyboard is a lot easier to handle on stage so hats off to the boys for managing this one! If you weren’t able to attend the concert, you can catch the awesome highlights from the show below. After Kolkata, the next concert stop for the band will be Dubai on 18th October, where they will be performing for the first time, more about this concert from me nearer the time. Do visit their YouTube channel and do check out their most recent rendition Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein.
