Valentine’s Day special: Top 5 Bollywood Romeo and Juliet style love songs

It is Valentine’s Day today and whatever your current situation, I know that a lot of you will enjoy listening to love songs. Not only do these songs often give us a sense of familiarity, but they also represent situations that we have been in over the years which is why we love them so much.

I have decided to switch over to Bollywood for this, and have selected 5 of my favourite Bollywood love songs which not only have a Romeo and Juliet vibe to them, but will certainly get you in the mood to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Enjoy my selection below, and let me know if they match your favourites too.

Nahin Ye Ho Nahin Sakta – Barsaat

Barsaat featuring Bobby Deol and Twinkle Khanna has always been one of my favourite films. I love its full soundtrack but selected Nahin Ye Ho Nahin Sakta for its happy ending and extreme romantic vibes.

Teri Meri Prem Kahani – Bodyguard

There is not a lot that needs to be said about the next song in this list! Composed by my favourite Bollywood musician Himesh Reshammiya, it is truly self explanatory why Teri Meri Prem Kahani from Bodyguard, is included 😉

Ae Mere Humsafar – Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

Another classic from the very Romeo and Juliet style love story of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Ae Mere Humsafar never fails to give the feeling of romance whenever you listen to the song.

Tu Hi Rab Tu Hi Dua – Dangerous Ishq

I was listening to Tu Hi Rab Tu Hi Dua only the other day and I remembered just how truly romantic this song sounds, with the piano and soothing vocals by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Tulsi Kumar. Composed by my favourite of course 😉

Bahut Pyar Karte Hain – Saajan

Rounding off the list with an oldie but a goodie, I have chosen Bahut Pyar Karte Hain from Saajan. This song will simply never sound old as it truly is a timeless melody composed by Nadeem-Shravan with lyrics by Sameer.
