This month, my favourite song is a throw back to one of James Bay‘s big hits Hold Back the River, from his debut album Chaos and the Calm.
James Bay is an artist that I have always known about, but have only recently listened to his discography in detail. Hold Back the River is regularly played on the radio station that I enjoy listening to (Magic Chilled), and it has become a firm favourite from there.
An emotional rollercoaster, Hold Back the River talks and a couple reuniting and the emotions that arise during the reunion. The song starts of on an almost sombre tempo but then gradually picks up with an anthem like chorus, that makes a lasting impression on the listener. James’s song writing talents are clearly visible in this track.
Listen to Hold Back the River by James Bay below and let me know if this is one of your favourite songs too!
