Connor Adams ready to release EP focus track Slam the Brakes

Following the breakout success of lead singles Freaking Out and Rush Hour – both of which received strong radio support from BBC Introducing and Radio X -Traffic Lights captures Connor Adams at a defining moment, balancing momentum, pressure, and personal reflection across five tightly crafted tracks.

The EP’s focus radio track, Slam the Brakes, sees Adams lean further into the project’s central themes, pairing urgency and introspection with a driving, anthemic edge. A tour and studio montage video for the track is available to watch, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world that shaped Traffic Lights.

Written in the aftermath of a whirlwind summer – including festival appearances at Isle of Wight, Y Not, and Truck Festival – Traffic Lights reflects life lived between motorways, stages, and fleeting moments of stillness. At its core, the EP explores the tension between acceleration and burnout, ambition and stability.

“Traffic Lights is about trying to hold everything together when life won’t slow down.”

The release follows a landmark run of live shows, highlighted by a sold-out hometown headline at The Church in Ipswich this February, cementing Adams’ growing reputation as a compelling live act.

Adams will celebrate the EP with a special London launch show at The Lower Third (Up), Soho, on April 2nd – set to be the first full live performance of Traffic Lights. The show is already nearing a sell-out.
