16 September 2024, London: The first tickets go on sale tomorrow for the London Soundtrack Festival (LSF), London’s first dedicated annual Festival celebrating the music of film, TV and games.

Crowdfunder launched for mural dedicated to The Smiths’ Andy Rourke

Striking black and white image of the much-loved musician will be painted by top street artist Akse and located in the heart of Manchester.

A Crowdfunder has been launched to fund a mural in tribute to The Smiths’ late bassist, Andy Rourke, who died in May last year aged 59,  following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Young Sounds UK and the UK Government unite to support young people from low-income families through music

National music education charity, Young Sounds UK leads a £5.8 million pilot programme, with backing from the Department for Education.

Up to 1,000 young people from low-income families and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to receive targeted support to progress their musical talent and interests.

The programme will run for four years, starting in September 2024, focusing on 12 key regions, including Sunderland, Bradford, Bury, and Stoke-on-Trent.

Unsigned band wrest sell-out 2,000 capacity Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow

12 September – Unsigned Edinburgh indie rock band wrest have sold out the legendary Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow – without industry support, a manager or label backing.

The DIY band, tipped as ‘Scotland’s most exciting emerging live act’, played their biggest show to date at a packed Barrowlands in Glasgow on 31st August 2024 – two weeks after the self-release of their acclaimed third studio album Everything’s Nothing Forever Again.
