I recently had the chance to catch up with Scottish country music artist Chris Andreucci. He is set to release his new single Strangers in a Bar soon, so we had a catch up about his musical journey so far, his new single and more! Read on to learn more about the talented artist!

Hi Chris, thanks for taking your time to let my readers get to know you and your music better. Please tell us how your journey as a musician began.
Hey thanks for sitting down with me. I grew up around music, I’m blessed to have had such a good musical upbringing. We listened to a wide range of music and genres at home and I think this has played a big part in shaping my songwriting and artist sound. I wrote my first song when I was 12 or 13, it was actually a co-write with my cousin. I never really knew how to express myself when I was growing up and songwriting gave me that outlet. I played in some bands through school and it all kind of snowballed into what it is today. I signed a publishing deal in 2019 and re-located to Nashville in 2022.
Your next single is called Strangers in a Bar. How did the concept for this single come about?
‘Strangers in a Bar’ is a song I wrote last year with my good friend John Haywood and Carver Partin in Nashville, TN. I had been sitting on the song idea for a little while but when we got into the room I just knew we had the right vibe to do it justice. Nashville is a really ‘happening’ city, there’s always something going on, and I’ve been blessed to have met so many great friends and songwriters in the bars across the city. For me a bar is an interesting place, where people meet for the first time and old friends catch up, where love flourishes over a cold beer and can also end just a few stools down. ‘Strangers In A Bar’ tells the story of two broken-hearted strangers who go to a bar to drown their sorrows and end up falling for each other over time. We tried to encapsulate the idea that two people meet, become friends and then lovers but then the relationship ends and they become strangers again. I love the full circle aspect of this song and it’s something I think people will really relate to as we all have had people in our lives that became strangers again through time.
Which artists do you consider to be your musical influences and why?
That’s a hard question, but my biggest musical influences would have to be Bruce Springsteen, Brent Cobb & Keith Whitley. These artists/songwriters have songs that just speak the truth to me and from the first time hearing them I could just relate. Music is such an important thing in my life, it’s been a friend and a form of therapy; it has been there for me at the lowest stages of my life and also the most happy times. As a songwriter myself I try to do the same with my music with the aim of helping someone else through difficult times or to help them remember a special moment through my songs.
A lot of musicians struggled during 2020, with concerts in tours being cancelled. How did you get through that time and how does the feel now, to be on the other side, with being able and perform on stage again?
The ‘covid years’ as I like to call them were very tough. I went from playing multiple weekly shows, writing sessions and studio time to absolutely nothing. It was a strange feeling as there was no indication of when things would eventually get back to ‘normal’. I’ve got to say, I do believe that there is a reason for everything that happens in life and coming into 2022 with a full-time songwriting career in Nashville, I think covid-19 gave me some time to really figure out what I wanted to do, how I was going to do it and helped me get rid of any naivety of the situation I was in.
Can you share any details of your forthcoming projects with us?
