“Katy Alex is an integral player in the new wave of artists coming out of the north west, and she is proving that independent pop music is alive and kicking.” – Ear Milk

“Beginning with immediately expansive instrumentals, Alex transports us from her local Merseyside to the sprawl of the States through glittering synths that wouldn’t feel out of place on a MUNA tune and lyrics laden with a wealth of luxury and emotion.” – Line Of Best Fit

“Katy has got catchy down to a T, with production to match: the autotuned backing vocals and foot-tapping synth line in ‘Glow’ take easy-listening somewhere, well, soft – recalling the make-up brush of a glow up, or afternoon sunshine hitting your cheeks.” – WhyNow

Anouna releases debut album By Myself and it’s out now

Anouna has just released her debut album titled By Myself available now on Spotify and Apple Music. This newly released album delves deep into Anouna’s vulnerable and honest thoughts post-breakup, as she navigates through life by herself.

Anouna

This body of work entirely written by Anouna contains 12 tracks and is an alternative dream built up of deeply personal lyrics, melodies, whistling, and some catchy beats. By Myself is an album that everyone can relate to. Everyone loves, everyone goes through hard times, and Anouna uses the familiarity of these feelings to teach people that they’re not alone, whilst also finding the importance of independence.

By Myself finds the beauty behind the darkness, as Anouna showcases her love for languages with Il M’a Dit, a French tune, and expresses her love for the beach in By the Sea and House of Sand. Anouna’s music reflects her travelling lifestyle, taking influence from the Middle East, North Africa, and the UK (plus she can speak a whopping 7 languages!).
