Pop singer-songwriter Bradley Jago will release his chilled-out new single Rain on Friday 28th May via Roots Below Inc.
Rain follows Jago’s previous singles Moonstruck and Shut Your Mouth, and sees him adopt a decidedly more laid back approach which draws heavily on the sultry R&B of the likes of Jorja Smith and Lauryn Hill. As well as this, the track takes influence from the off-kilter pop of Billie Eilish and a funkier edge inspired by UK virtuoso Jacob Collier for a sound that Jago well and truly makes his own.
Western Canada-based indie folk collective Bent Roads Tavern have today released Let’s Go To Newfoundland as the first track from their forthcoming album Clear Nights. Brite Lites.
“Our goal is simply to celebrate Canada: the land, the culture and the musicians who have inspired us.” That is how Collen Middleton (guitarist and vocalist) describes Bent Roads Tavern and their new album Clear Nights. Brite Lites. That goal is best illustrated by Let’s Go To Newfoundland,” the first track to be released from the forthcoming album.
“It was the first song that I brought to the band,” recalls Middleton. “I was a big fan of Great Big Sea, Newfoundland’s native sons, so this was sort of a shoutout to that corner of my musical tastes. When I was growing up, my dad always talked about going on a family holiday to Newfoundland, which we never did. The dream of that trip never died in me and eventually turned into a song. I still hope to make it there one day.”

He writes quick-moving songs with a distinct British flavour, underneath an Ian Broudie-like voice and a conversational delivery. The lyrics are pithy and candid, full of unexpected details. Dino produces for a modern, densely arranged sound, borrowing from ’80s New Wave and ’90s Britpop – crediting The Cars, Supertramp, and Manic Street Preachers among his musical influences. He is currently gearing up for his first launch cycle, with his debut EP Just Another Guy due later this month, and an album recorded to follow.

Meeting in Bristol’s nightlife, he became the bass player for Bristol punk band The Proxy Youth, honing their sound with his instrumental skill and multi-faceted production approach. Their 2021 debut single ‘New Generation’ has been featured on stations such as BBC Radio Bristol, Planet Rock, and many others.
