I recently shared a press release from piano composer Adrian Lord, who champions the idea that music is good for the brain. As a pianist and music lover myself, it is something that I have always believed in. I am now delighted to share my review of Adrian’s latest album Piano Meditations and the accompanying music book.

Piano Meditations is Adrian’s 5 track album of soothing piano music that is ideal for meditation and general relaxation. Each track has its own flow and identity and a couple of them, end in almost a cliffhanger style to keep you listening.

How playing the piano helped me during lockdown 2020

Let’s face it, 2020 is the year that literally changed all of our lives. The entire world was thrown into a global pandemic and as we have reached its 1 year anniversary, looking back at the past year, its amazing to say that we have survived it.

While we are yet to come out the other side, 2020 also saw small miracles happening in the form of hobbies. As many of us were left with more time on our hands than we are used to, a lot of us (including myself), dedicated this time to our existing hobbies or creating new ones for ourselves.

Piano Composer Adrian Lord champions the principal that Music is good for the brain

Cheshire pianist and composer Adrian Lord pursued his interest in the affect that music can have on the brain following the completion of his most recent work, ‘Piano Meditations’: an extended playlist of five slow tempo piano pieces. As part of his journey, Adrian Lord interviewed Dr Andrew Budson, Lecturer in Neurology at Harvard Medical School to discuss the science behind why music is good for the brain.

Saving Cathren are back with their second single The Edge out now

Saving Cathren,  Oxfordshire Band, has been hard at work, rehearsing online and writing, with gigs already lined up for the Summer, eagerly awaiting release from lockdown, they have just released their second single “The Edge”.

Lead singer and co-producer Cathren writes: “When Paul first came to me with the song, The Edge, I could instantly feel the weight behind the powerful hook, Over and Over the Edge We Go.  I fell in love right away and started production.  Now some months later, and many hours of online collaboration, I am so proud to be a part of what I feel will be a timeless classic in our growing repertoire of jewels”
